I’m friendly. I promise. So if you want to inquire about an el Jong-shot portfolio, send me a message here or any of my ten million social networking sites.
Lexi has one of the most beautiful faces I’ve ever shot. So much so that I also invited her to be in my first editorial magazine shoot here in New York (see Ash People Shoot). She is now vying to be Miss New York USA.
Go ahead and support her by liking her page and checking her updates.

I will finally be home for the holidays!
I cannot wait to spend a bunch of time with my family and friends. So many delightful things are happening. My sister is having her second child. One of our cousins is getting married so a lot of our relatives from the United States will be flying in. My best friend and brother is also getting married (and I am stressing about my best man’s speech)! Best of all, I will get to enjoy all the happenings, Christmas, New Year and the weddings with my Mahal!
For the next month, I will be hopping islands and enjoying dinner and drinks with my photography teammates and former officemates. I will be in a bunch of beaches and will finally try this “clubbing” the kids are raving about. For the next month, I will unwind, clear my mind, and try to forget how stressful the past few months were. For the next month, I will be home with my loved ones.
I should have some more time in my hands in the Philippines and shooting less so I will try to blog more. Send in whatever questions you have or whatever you want to know about this little hobby of mine and I will try my best to answer swiftly.
“Freedom Song”, el Jong x Mica
A few posts back I featured Mica’s (@DaRealMICA) head shots. This time, we will not only share her face, but also her voice. I moved her portrait to her a remix of her own song. I really like doing moving portraits.
View her videos and listen to her other songs in her YouTube channel: excusememics.
vincechang asked: Hi sir jong, just wanted to ask, how do you pose your models? :) do they pose by themselves or you direct them? any tips i could use?
Posing is actually one of the things I am better at, so I usually show them the approximate pose that I would like then they will do their thing. As for the tips, have a lot of poses you can copy on hand. It will be quick if you show it to the models than telling them.
This is Fabiola’s (@fabiolabfz) final shoot with me. Again, definitely one of the best looks and talent I’ve been around with.

Lighting Note:
A fashion gray background is a staple for magazine-esque, high-fashion-looking shots, and this was the first time I experimented in mixing my exposure to approximate that look (without using a seamless gray background). All I did was underexposed everything and pseudo-sandwich the subject between 2 strobes.

As promised, here are the rest of Krista’s (@KristaAyne) shots. She is still definitely one of the one of the best specimens I’ve had a pleasure of meeting.

Oh, and guess what. I have another set of her…
