Tanis: Behind the Head Shot

I was able to shoot a gorgeous Cree-Canadian (Métis) model/actor this afternoon.

I have learned that there are Native Indian tribes in Canada and Cree is one of them. Also, Canadians with mixes of Native Indians are called Métis. Now you know too!

I am firm believer that the most important tool in photography is the brain. Finding ways to creatively engineer your way into an artistic shot involves maximizing your gear, model and surroundings.

Our shoot went without a hitch. She had a pleasing personality and was game for whatever idea that popped in my head. I did my usual head shot-glam-editorial layouts combo so expect the others in the next few days.
